The Story of Poupilou
Poupilou is the story of a little girl seeking comfort. Like many children, she felt reassured by her plush toys and soft blankets, but these companions had their limitations: plush toys often lost their softness after a wash, and blankets too often disappeared during her adventures.
Years later, this little girl, now a fashion designer, had an ingenious idea: combine the two. This is how the very first Poupilou was born – a comforting and practical companion, designed to withstand cuddles, washes, and daily explorations.
Founder's Portrait
This little girl is Laurence Béliveau, a fashion designer and entrepreneur who hails from Beauce. She worked for several years for Montreal SMEs as a fashion designer and purchasing coordinator before bringing this project she held dear to fruition.
Her journey reflects her personality: creative, resilient, and deeply caring. Diagnosed late in life with generalized anxiety disorder, she explored various calming methods (from psychotherapy to meditation), thus forging her mission: to bring softness and comfort to children with wellness accessories while encouraging the integration of healthy habits that support mental and emotional health.

At Poupilou, our mission is clear: to support the emotional well-being of little ones, one cuddle at a time. By combining softness, functionality, and eco-responsibility, we design soothing accessories that accompany children in their daily lives, while creating moments of shared comfort with their loved ones.
Our flagship product is not limited to its soft and comforting shape: it is designed as a true well-being tool. From a very young age, it encourages calming breaks and supports emotional development, with simplicity and tenderness. Poupilou is a company driven by a deeply human vision: every detail is thought out to help children grow up in a softer, safer... and a little more serene environment.

We prioritize durable and wear-resistant materials to reduce textile waste. The use of recycled materials is an integral part of our process — the filling in our cushions is 100% recycled!
Social Commitment – Mission Douceur Program
We give a second life to certain products with slight imperfections by distributing them to children in need through organizations such as Réno-Jouets (recently seen on our social media). We also donate our textile scraps to community organizations to benefit other little ones.
Upcoming Community Partnerships We are currently developing collaborations with non-profit organizations to create unique plush toys, designed in their image. A portion of the sales will be donated — stay tuned, a big announcement is coming soon!
